About Alex

Alex Chapman – Set Design and Build

Alex is finishing his BA (Hons) stage management degree at Royal Birmingham conservatoire. One aspect of university he is most proud of is being the deputy stage manager on Picnic directed by Danièle Sanderson, performed at the crescent theatre. Alex has also been a set assistant on Trojan women directed by Sean Aita and a props assistant on three winters directed by Lise Olson along with other shows.

Away from uni Alex has been developing his self employed freelance career working with different touring companies such as Jimmy Carr Terribly Funny Tour, The Drifters tribute tour and Milton Jones Milton Impossible. Alex has done multiple work placements from 7 week placement at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre as an assistant stage manager for Peter Pan Re-imagined directed by Liam Steel, to a 2 week placement at PRG XL Media and working with BBC Radio 4 Question Time.

Alex looks forward in his career and hopes to be part of a hire company for technical or scenic pieces. However he has not ruled out the possibility of touring or being part of a theatrical company.
